Green River Community College is on quarter break so the college will be unoccupied - plenty of parking room.
There is still time to decide whether to participate or not, but time is short. Why should you participate and get involved?
Below, I will address this critical question of fathers getting involved and attending the Fathers Conference. But first, here is the updated information about the schedule and formal registration:
Daytime registration will be available for the first paying and attending 450 people. This fee will be for daytime speakers, workshops and meals. The fee will be under $50.00. Exact amount to be announced shortly.
This fee will cover Father Conference activities for Wednesday, June 16, from 8:00am to 5:00pm and same hours for Thursday, June 17, and Friday, June 18.
Evening registration will be under $15.00. This will cover costs of meals between 5:00pm and 6:00pm following the daytime activities for both evenings. Workshops will run from 6:00pm to 9:00pm on both Wednesday and Thursday evenings. The evening sessions were largely planned for fathers by fathers for the benefit of fathers, children and families. Father participation is needed to make these workshops a success.
This is the first Fathers Conference where evening workshops have been made available so we need to see as many fathers\family members attending as possible.
We anticipate daytime registration will include from 30 to 50 fathers' movement activists or divorce reform leaders. This means that if you have an interest in participating in the daytime events, you need to act right now. Register now.
This Fathers Conference notice has been circulating among state bureaucracies and outside community service organizations for some time and we understand State employees will be reimbursed if they participate, so they will be more likely to register as soon as Registration is open.

If you want immediate notification to Register for the daytime events and activities, please send me an e-mail to that effect. I will forward it to the State people once registration is open and I will let you know by e-mail.. Then it will be up to you to follow-up. If you are just curious about the Father Conference where there is most likely an interest in evening events and workshops, please make that clear in your message.
At least two organizations - American Fathers Alliance and TABS (Taking Action Against Bias in the System) from Bellevue, are hoping to get at least 10 people to participate. We hope to have father-friendly people circulating throughout the entire Conference, sitting in on all workshop presentations and networking. We need fathers movement people to meet other positive people discussing fatherhood, exchanging business cards, and engaging in positive fatherhood discussions.
Why should you and your family members attend?
We encourage fathers, family members and grandparents to register and participate in significant numbers to send a message there are large numbers of loving, caring and nurturing fathers in our local communities and families. And these positive Male Parents\Family Members want a change of image about fatherhood.
You can help change the negative image of fathers just by participating and being yourself. We must put father-love on display by being who we are. Positive father involvement can show that participation makes a difference. Positive father participation can show that father involvement can replace government programs, but government programs are no substitute for father love.
Our message - Fathers are good people too and Children need their fathers.
Your involvement in the Washington Fathers Conference through registration, is a big way
We need to send a message to the Washington state government, social services agencies, the Washington Legislature and others who today serve to alienate and keep fathers away from their children. If you want to showcase our issues and concerns, this is your chance to have a dramatic political impact just by showing up.

This conference is not the end-all or be-all for Fatherhood discussion in Washington State. But it is a unique opportunity to have a dramatic impact on our critical audience - state employees. There will be other opportunities for discussions - but how long do we want to wait for positive changes in Fatherhood Image or laws that currently serve to discourage Father Involvement?
