The League of Men Voters today announced the establishment of its web site at lmv.org
The League is a national grassroots volunteer organization for those who wish to contribute time, effort or funding to help close the huge "participation gap" existing between male and female voters. Among other things, members of the League will work to establish a unique tradition of registering their own children, grandchildren and friends to vote.
"American males must come to realize that, until the creation of the League of Men Voters, no other group worked specifically to increase male voter turnout," said Mike Aspen, president and founder of the League.
Voter turnout may not be a high priority for some men, but such is apparently not the case for many women. NOTE THIS: Emily's List, a network for pro-choice democratic women politicians, has earmarked $10 million to mobilize women voters!
