Things that make you go, "Hmmm"
By Rod Van Mechelen, January 2015 - Olympia, WA
In this column I pose questions and raise issues. The purpose is to put a slightly different spin on each item, provoke thinking or give you ideas for how to respond to things. Think of them as "sound bite arguments."

  • Because of feminists, the day is coming when misogyny will be celebrated and misandry will be considered a crime.
  • Feminism may not say women are better than men, but feminists do, and that's sexist.
  • Feminism is a movement of, by and for the safest, most prosperous and protected generations of women in history.
  • Feminism is sustained by politicians pandering to whiners and government programs supported by taxes paid primarily by men.
  • When the global depression eliminates the taxes required by the government's feminist programs, feminism will give way to survival.
  • Feminism is a tax on men and masculinity.
  • Cowards strike only from positions of strength, make a stand only when their opposition appears weak, and lead only from behind the cover of others.
  • Justice in America tends to grind up everybody; it should focus, instead, on righting wrongs, making victims whole and cultivating good citizens.
  • People who think with their heads make it possible for people who think with their hearts to survive.
  • Without people who think with their heads, people who think with their hearts would live like wild animals.
  • Progressive Welfare Neolibs on the Left, Progressive Warfare Neocons on the Right, forcing the middle class out of existence and into poverty.
  • How the number of single, never married men can be higher than the number of single, never married women? Thanks to feminism, women have to recycle divorced men.
  • While many focus on shale oil, few are aware of the $38 per barrel coming out of the oil sands at Asphalt Ridge in Utah.
  • We live in a false rape culture.
  • Feminism is a progressive supremacist movement.
  • You want to promote men's rights? Then promote individual liberty and personal responsibility.
  • The most sexist men are often the loudest proponents of feminism.
  • The most sexist men are often the first to condemn all men.
  • Inconsistency is a tool used by cultural Marxists and narcissists to put people off balance.
  • Some feminists do not identify as feminists but pursue a feminist agenda under the guise of traditional values.
  • Feminism oppresses women.
  • Was a purpose of the war on drugs to justify imposing draconian capital controls on US Citizens?
  • What's the difference between "equity feminism" and libertarianism?
  • Who wants to fit into a corrupted culture?
  • By inciting people to violence over the Darren Wilson decision, is Obama being racist, or merely opportunistic?
  • How many of the feminists who screech about online harassment are guilty of it themselves?
  • Both the Obama and Bush administrations are embarrassments; it's time for a real change.
  • Feminists use exclusion to oppress those who oppose them.
  • Feminists used to have intellectual substance, now they're just hate-spewing chatter boxers.
  • By employing the principles of nature, it is easily possible to feed a much larger population than we have today.
  • Sports Night was all right, and even though I'm a Ron Paul Republican I was able to enjoy The West Wing, and in my opinion Studio 60 was the best TV since MASH, but it's been very disappointing to see Sorkin stoop to the hatred and lies he infuses into Newsroom. It's like after Studio 60 was cancelled he lost his humanity and is now channeling a politically correct version of the ghost of Joseph Goebbels.
