In this column I pose questions and raise issues. I don't always agree with the conclusion, implied or stated. The purpose is to put a slightly different spin on each item and to promote discussion.

  • Are you making a difference, or marking time?

  • Presidents always take credit for the good times, but blame the bad times on their predecessors or Congress.

  • Women who make men pursue them and overcome "challenges" are virtually assured they will get a man who doesn't take "no" for an answer.

  • The present debate over how China would respond to the U.S. building up its missile defense arsenal (New York Times, May 27, 2000) is irrelevant - the Chinese arsenal is so tiny as to be virtually inconsequential. The fact anyone brings it up is a ploy to divert attention from something else.

  • Among other things, most men want a mate who will make them feel good about themselves. Pop feminists say this is a bad thing. But isn't that one of the things most women want, too?

  • In many ways, women are halfs, and men are half-nots.

  • The polls indicate that, despite his pop feminist policies, Al Gore is trailing Shrub in popularity with women. That should come as no surprise - few women find men with Asperger's Syndrome as attractive as a slick Willie or sly Shrub.

  • When Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris planned and executed their killing spree at Columbine High in Littleton, Colorado, which left 13 dead and 21 wounded, it wasn't long before the pop feminists were churning out dirges about the predictable violence of "entitled white" males. We wonder what they will have to say about John Taylor and Craig Godineaux, who planned and executed their Wendy's killing spree in Queens, New York, which left 5 dead and two wounded. That the two whites, who also killed themselves, acted out of "white entitlement," while the two blacks, at least one of whom is described as "cocky" and "remorseless," acted out of something else? Either way, they just don't get it: Violence should never be an issue of race or gender, but of individuals and communities.

  • One of the ironies of the day is how proficient so many women are at choosing men who communicate poorly by assuming those men who are most responsive to "signals" provide the best relationships. If more women would learn to very forthrightly initiate communication with men, they would soon find how many men there are who really do know how to communicate in ways conducive to enduring and satisfying relationships.

  • A lot of good, decent German citizens never supported Hitler. But they did little or nothing to oppose him, so the Nazi milieu is what they got. Similarly, a lot of good, decent women do not support the anti-male agenda. But they have done little or nothing to oppose it, so an anti-male milieu is what they have. Let's just hope the aftermath of the latter milieu is far less destructive than the former.

  • After the national outrage over Mary Kay LeTourneau's crime, it began to look like female rapists would get treated almost as harshly as male rapists. Or maybe not. When Trinicia Makasini, 24, a former instructional aide at a San Mateo elementary school, committed statutory rape with and got pregnant by a then-14 year-old boy, she didn't even get jail time: Judge Craig Parsons released her after prosecutor Linda Eufusia said justice would best be served by letting her go free. Reason: the welfare of the baby. Lesson: if you're going to commit a crime, do it in a context where you can use "best interests of a child" as your defense.

  • Most physicians do not recognize Multiple Chemical Sensitivity as a real malady. But then, once upon a time was most physicians did not believe in bacteria, either.

Did you ever wonder?

The following questions were raised by Falcon, an anonymous reader.

  • Why women as a group don't stay together? Can anyone name one female group of women that are still together compared to say the Rolling Stones, Bee Gees, Aerosmith, Journey to name just a few of their male counter parts?

  • Title IX Women's sports do not pay for themselves or bring in any additional revenue or opportunities to the college?

  • If it costs $160,000 dollars to raise a child to the age of 18 why any man is paying more than $740 dollars per month per child in child support?

  • Why if the primary parent dies, the government won't cough up the same amount as they routinely order fathers to pay before he died?

  • Why if men live 7 years less than women, they can't start collecting Social Security 7 years earlier, or pay less?

  • Does it surprise anyone that the most successful bombers in the United States during the last 20 years have been White males?

  • Does it surprise anyone that the First Person to the North Pole, the New World, to Antarctica or to the top of Mount Everest were White Males?

  • Does it surprise anyone that the first person to circumnavigate the world in a Hot Air Balloon were two white males, or that the first person to cross the Atlantic in a plane was a white male?

  • Does it surprise anyone that when something bad happens we always compare it to a white male? We look at Hitler worse then we look at Idi Amin Da Da, Genghis Khan or Pol Pot if we even remember them in the first place.

  • Why women caught mistreating children on nanny cams or who are convicted of child abuse are not treated like men under similar circumstances, who are required register with the police, and whose names are put into national databases and slandered on websites?

  • I had a dream once that the Democratic National Party, the National Organization for Women, the American Bar Association and all of the major American Media Organizations were gathered in one place... and Tim McVeigh drove up...and walked away.
