In a bid to bring attention to the plight of children in broken families, Warren Farrell ran for California governor.
2003 Olympia, Wash. - Well known author and equal rights advocate Warren Farrell ran for governor of California in a bid to become the first "Governor for Kids."
Dr. Warren Farrell has officially launched his candidacy for California Governor. His campaign will focus on reducing the economic costs of social neglect, such as when children lose their dads after divorce. - Warren Farrell for Governor, Press Release, August 13, 2003
Although many of us - especially the guys - have followed Arnold Schwarzenegger's career since he came to the states, we admire him, and I believe he would make a great governor, the advantage Warren has over Arnold is his vast knowledge about the problems that plague American families, and the solutions that he has already devised and tested.
Dr. Farrell feels the pendulum has swung from a "women's crisis" to a "men's crisis" that is wasting our human resources just as the energy crisis wasted our natural resources.
Many of Dr. Farrell's proposals may seem unrealistic or "touchy-feely," but his approach has been tested in the real world by tens of thousands of families throughout the U.S. and Canada, and they work. As much as I would enjoy seeing Arnold Schwarzenegger for governor, were I a resident of California I would vote for Dr. Warren Farrell, a man who has dedicated his career to solving the problems faced by modern families.
What are the solutions? Here are Dr. Farrell's "Top Ten Social Solutions with Budget Saving Results" that transcend Democratic and Republican Party lines.
