The National Congress for Fathers and Children (NCFC), founded in 1981, will hold its 1997 Convention at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, within the Dallas-Fort Worth Airport complex, from Thursday, August 7, 1997 through Sunday, August 10th.

Registration is $75.00 before August 1, or $100.00 after August 1.
For the additional "Family Program" add $35.00, and for the "President's Dinner, $25.00 per person.
Hyatt Regency Hotel Rooms are $91.00 per night, single or double.
Contact Convention Chairman Dave Shelton, Fathers for Equal Rights, for information on nearby economical accommodations.

The convention itself will provide multiple educational workshops of interest to Fathers, their families, and all those who support the cause of Preserving and Improving Father-Child relationships.

THURSDAY August 7, 1997
12 noon
Registration will begin.
Book Store and office will set up.

6:00 p.m.
President's welcoming address.

Registration office and book store will close at 6:00 p.m.


FRIDAY August 8, 1997
7:30 a.m.
NCFC Board of directors will meet for breakfast.

8:00 a.m. Registration office and book store will open.

9:00 a.m. to 10:25
MEETING ROOM A
Bob Hirschfeld, JD will present a class on "The Appeal Process and Appealing Without a Lawyer"

MEETING ROOM B
George Kelly will present a class on effective fund raising at the local chapter level.

10:35 a.m. to 12 noon
MEETING ROOM A
John Smotherman will present a class on how to do a cost effective deposition in a custody case. Mr Smotherman will cover all forms of depositions.

MEETING ROOM B
How do you get 100 fathers per month to join your local chapter?

The two meeting rooms will be opened into one room and the candidates for the board of directors will be presented to the members of NCFC. Each candidates will be given 3 minutes to state his or her reason for wanting to be on the board and their qualifications for being on the board.

3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
MEETING ROOM A
R. Joseph Powell and Lisa Hagenauer will present a class on the use of interrogatories and request for Production of documents in a child custody case.

MEETING ROOM B
Victor Smith will make a presentation,"How the old timers did it."

Registration office and book store will close at 6:00 p.m.

7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Final meeting of the 1996/97 Board of Directors.

New Candidates for the board should make themselves available in the lobby during the evening so that they can talk with the voters and expand on their wishes and plans for being on the board.

Warren Farrell will present a class on the importance of fathers in a child's life.

MEETING ROOM B
Sandra Trent will present a lecture on the importance of mediation, and how fathers can use mediation to win.

10:35 a.m. to 12 noon
MEETING ROOM A
Jeff Leving will give his views on effective lawyer representation for fathers in contested custody cases.

MEETING ROOM B
Peace Pipe Dispute Resolution will present a sample mediation session regarding custody.

12 noon to 1:00 p.m.
Lunch (on your own)

1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
MEETING ROOM A
Steve Finstein will present a class on the use of Social studies in custody determinations, and how to prepare for one.

MEETING ROOM B
Luke Gunstaks will present a class on the most effective way to win custody when you are falsely accused of child abuse.

3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
MEETING ROOM A
Personal Touch Investigations will present a session on why and how private investigation can improve your chances of winning in custody. Jay Bailey and Bill Madding will show how to do your own investigations and when to bring in the professionals.

MEETING ROOM B
How To Use a Law Library will be taught by Jerry Johnson and Doug Clark of Father for Equal Rights.

Office and book store will close at 6:00 p.m.

7:00 p.m.
PRESIDENT'S DINNER

PHIL HOLMAN will speak on "The D.C. Front - Fathers Rights in National Government"

The Keynote Speaker will be announced soon.


Sunday Morning, August 10, 1997

9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The new Board of directors will meet for the election of Officers, The Executive Board, appointment of Committees and setting of the agenda for the next 12 months.
