On Seattle TV talk show Town Meeting, July 21, 1996, Patricia Ireland, national president of the National Organization for Women (NOW) said that her organization is for both women and men, that it opposes sexism, racism, classism, and all forms of oppression.
So why hasn't NOW publicly opposed genital mutilation of American boys? Why hasn't NOW publicly endorsed those organizations that oppose ALL infant genital mutilation regardless of sex?
The truth is, whatever noble sentiments characterized its origin, NOW long ago became a vehicle to power for anti male bigots.
