by Stuart Miller, Federal Lobbyist #19368000
Senior Legislative Analyst - American Fathers Coalition

Do you have the most outrageous case? Well, here is your chance: Tell it to Congress

I need three (3) witnesses for a congressional hearing (before the summer break) who can testify to outrageous (personal) experience with child support enforcement.

Email Stuart Miller immediately.

This is on a fast track, so please provide as much detail as possible.

Thank you.

National Action Needed

Write!

Write to the American Sociological Association and ask them to rescind Lenore Weitzman's "Distinguished Contribution" award. "Lying Lenore's" bogus data has been used to financially ruin hundreds of thousands of men. Following is the address and a sample letter.

Ms. Felice Levine
Executive Director
American Sociological Association
1722 N Street NW
Washington, DC 20036

via email to: executive.office@asanet.org

Dear Ms. Levine,

I understand that the American Sociological Association presented Lenore Weitzman with it's 'Distinguished Contribution to Scholarship Award,' in 1986 for her book 'The Divorce Revolution.'

From an Associated Press news article (May 17, 1996) I learned that Ms. Weitzman's data collection and data analysis were flawed. The 73% decline in womens' post-divorce standard of living she reported was actually 27%. And that her reported increase for men was 42%, but actually should have been 10%. I understand further that Ms. Weitzman withheld her raw data from other researchers for many years. That prevented scrutiny of her methods and her data.

The judge in my own divorce alluded to her findings when splitting our marital assets. Findings which have been repudiated by the author herself.

I am asking the ASA to rescind it's 1986 award to Ms. Weitzman. The work she authored in no way represents a 'Distinguished Contribution to Scholarship.' It was poorly done, and has caused irreparable harm to countless men in divorce cases. It does not deserve your award.

Sincerely, David M. Nevers
