Wanted: Your Feedback on "Fathers Are Parents Too"

by Anne P. Mitchell, Esq.

If you are in an area which is currently receiving our television talk show, "Fathers Are Parents Too", and you have seen the show, please take a moment to give us some feedback!

Particularly, we would like to know:

  1. In what location, and on what station, are you viewing the show?

  2. What do you think of the format? If you have seen both styles, do you prefer it when the host goes to the studio audience after break, or when the host stays seated and the audience members stand up to a mike with their questions? Why?

  3. Which shows have you seen (identified by guest), and of those shows, which did you find to be the most informative/educational? Why?

  4. Aside from technical aspects, which we are always working to improve, do you have any suggestions for the show?

If "Fathers are Parents Too" isn't already being aired in your local area, it's really quite easy to get the show aired locally, here is how it works:
The show is produced here in Mountain View, California, at KMVT. Nearly all cable companies have a "public access" channel, and they are very willing to broadcast shows produced by other cable access channels (such as KMVT).

Once another station (let's use, as an example, WXYZ) agrees to air our show, we (here at F.R.E.E. HQ) put them on a list, and send the shows to them as the new shows are wrapped and on tape (this is known as bicycling).

It's a pretty simple system, once the link is made between us and the cable company (i.e. WXYZ).

But here is where we need your help and action: we need you, each of you, to call your local cable company, and make the arrangement for us to start sending our show to them and to get it on the air.

It's easy, and won't take much of your time! Here's what to do:

Go to the phone book, and look up the number of your local cable company. Call them and ask who the local cable access provider is (i.e. WXYZ). Or you may already know who it is.

Call that local cable access provider (i.e. WXYZ) and explain that you are a member of the Fathers' Rights & Equality Exchange, an organization which advocates greater involvement for single fathers in the lives of their children.

Tell them that F.R.E.E. is producing a cable access show with KMVT in Mountain View, California, that it is a weekly talk show, and that we would like to arrange to have them broadcast it on a regular basis.

Tell them that it is a 28.5 minute show, and we can provide it in either VHS, SVHS, or 3/4 inch format [we greatly prefer VHS as the duplicating cost is much lower]. Tell them that we can provide them with the first twelve shows immediately, and two shows per month after that.

Ask them what we have to do to get started. Ask them about selecting a broadcast time (our preference is an early evening "primetime" slot; the show airs here on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 p.m.). Be sure to get the name of the person you talked to. Make as many of the arrangements as you can then and there. Our fantasy is that you get back to us and say "all the arrangements are made; send the tapes to this address, care of this person, the show will start airing on this date and time"!

Coffee lovers

From: by Brent Wellman

This is directed to all you coffee drinkers out there; if you can't get started on your way without your daily "rocket fuel," then listen up.

A few months ago, Celebrity's Choice Coffee agreed with the FREE Foundation to contribute 20% of their designated sales to the Foundation, to continue supporting its work for fathers' rights. In return we would recommend to you that you use Celebrity's Choice Coffee, as a means for you to support the cause of fathers' rights.

Well, I wasn't going to recommmend something that I didn't use or believe in. No sir.

So I tried some. Friends, it was good coffee! Pop your eyes, spring out of bed and say "Howdy!" coffee! If you like coffee, I heartily recommend you give it a try.

Just tune your web browsers to Celebrity's Choice Coffee and designate "Free Foundation" in the appropriate box. C'mon, yer gonna spend yer hard-earned dough on coffee, anyhow! And you will be supporting fathers' rights with every sip. Every cup changes the world!
