Take Our Daughters to Work

All parents, teachers and concerned citizens should emphatically oppose the public education project, "Take Our Daughters to Work," held on April 27th. Sponsored by the Ms. Foundation for Women, with approval from the U.S. Department of Education, it is the most blatant and unconscionable act of sex discrimination proposed lately for the following reasons:

Affirmative Discrimination

This affirmative action type program discriminates against boys who have no history of discriminating against anyone.

Affirmative Action programs are supposed to promote inclusion of girls, not exclusion of boys.

The overall lower level of boys' self-esteem already leads to higher drop out, incarceration and suicide rates for boys than girls.

Gender Division

This program condones a segregated agenda that, according to the 1954 Brown v. Board of Education case, does not guarantee equal education.

It teaches girls that it's justifiable to discriminate against one class as long as it is beneficial to another class.

Patronizing and Demeaning

It condones girls being separated from and given preferential treatment over boys as the only possible way for them to compete successfully.

It infers that parents and teachers have intentionally discriminated against girls in the past.

Indoctrination

The curriculum the boys will be taking that day, "a special program to discuss issues that involve women and girls," amounts to social engineering by partisan women's organizations unaccountable to the general public.

Finally, the "Take Our Daughters to Work" program violates state Human Rights Commission, EEOC and Department of Education law and policies.

As recorded throughout history, for every discriminatory action there is eventually a resentful and/or opposing reaction, and that is what this program of separatism promotes.
