The 2012 NDAA Sound of Silence
By Rod Van Mechelen
2022 Olympia, WA -- In Bret Weinstein's and Heather Heying's Dark Horse podcast Number 115, Bret correctly observed that Conservatives defend the past victories of Liberals.
That is a fact. Thomas Jefferson and the other of America's founding fathers were Liberals. Or what, today, we call Classical Liberals. And for generations Conservatives have defended their victories.
But then Bret, who flatly rejects "Classical Liberal" as a valid term and claims there is only "real" Liberalism, makes a mistake typical of modern Liberals by confusing the Liberal (and Classical Liberal) enthusiasm for progress with the Liberal causes that were expropriated by Progressives, to effectively confuse Liberalism with Progressivism.
Ordered Chaos
John Dewey (famous for the Dewey Decimal System) was the father of American Progressivism. He was a collectivist who viewed individualism as a problem and government as the solution. He trained the teachers of the teachers who spread to now dominate our public education system, with all the venom it injects into the minds of their students.
Generations ago Edmund Burke and others observed that for a society to be stable yet vital it needs the creativity, imagination and drive to make progress somewhat constrained within the framework of a status quo that resists but does not prevent change.
Or, as L.E. Modesitt Jr. portrays in his Recluce series, chaos balanced by order.
Without Due Process
Progressivism, on the other hand, recognizes might as the only right, government force as the only solution, and under the guise of Liberalism has captured institutions and created movements that are now exposed as oppressive and totalitarian.
A fact Bret and Heather, at least at the point in the podcast where I paused to write this, find astonishing. But it's no surprise to many of us, who saw this coming decades ago. My awakening to this came in 1985 when Progressives (neocons) captured the second Reagan Administration.
They also noted what some of us decried when it was passed that the 2012 NDAA signed into law by Obama strips all Americans of our Constitutionally guaranteed rights. This is now being used to silence dissent and "wrong think." They call us terrorists, and under the provisions introduced by Obama with the 2012 NDAA, claim that warrants permanent detention without due process.
Everybody should listen to this podcast before it's deleted. It is, in my opinion, one of their most important episodes.
Gov. Jay Inslee SCIENCE!
Feb. 9, 2022, Gov. Jay Inslee of Washington State announced that he is going to begin scaling back his unconstitutional and illegal mandates, starting with the mandate requiring us to wear masks outdoors. Following which he will rescind the indoor public venue mask mandate.
He also said this has everything to do with the SCIENCE* and nothing to do with the truck convoys.
Okay, he didn't say anything about the truckers, but I'm absolutely 100 percent certain that his decision is totally and completely unrelated to the convoys.
Even if a million truckers converged on Olympia, if the SCIENCE* says we still have to cower behind closed doors, hide our faces and get all the jabs, he wouldn't cut and run like Trudeau but would stand firm and fast.
Because, SCIENCE!*
