Thought for the day: I just read another article that gold is going to tank. Another says gold will blast past $3,000. Who's right? Heck if I know. There may be enough can kicking left to carry us into mid-to-late 2013. Unless, of course, we go to war with Iran in 2012,...

Thought for the day: The Patriot Act gutted the Fourth Amendment. The 2012 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) threatens to eviscerate the Fifth Amendment. Passage of the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) will undermine the First Amendment. Will the elimination of these rights usher in the dawn of the Fourth Reich?

Thought for the day: Whether gold goes from here straight to $5,000, or rolls back to $800 and then charges to $5,000, the trend is still up and the end result will probably be the same. Thought for the day: As I write this Michael Medved is ranting that the job of the American President has nothing to do with the economy and is primarily about foreign policy and national defense. The American President has always gotten involved in the nation's economy. Michael knows this. He also knows that Paul is very strong on national defense. What better and more conservative foreign policy than strong defense, free trade and non-intervention?

Thought for the day: Gerald Celente of the Trends Journal, is predicting that 2012 is the year things fall apart for America. Maybe. But if the Fed forces banks to start lending, that will make it feel like the economy is in recovery and could carry us into 2013 before the rate of price inflation skyrockets. Whether it's 2012, 2013 or even 2015, what are you doing to prepare?

Thought for the day: In 2006 and 2007 I heard "conservative" commentator Michael Medved rave many times about how more Americans than ever "owned" their homes. I marveled that he seemed unaware that the housing bubble was about to burst. Today, I heard him attack Ron Paul's opinion about an event that took place 150 years ago. As if it matters. Perhaps this is because "conservative" Medved, who believes that American taxpayers should give welfare to the state of Israel, which Dr. Paul opposes, is a warmongering nut burger.
